James qualified as a Solicitor in November 2006 and joined Duncan Lewis in March 2007 in the Housing team at the Hackney office.

James specialises in housing law covering landlord and tenant, possession actions, homelessness, illegal evictions, disrepair, neighbour disputes, property disputes and harassment. He has an interest in duties owed by local authorities to those who are vulnerable and has experience of advising on homelessness and allocation rights. James is a duty solicitor for possession of rental and mortgaged properties in two London County Courts.

He is also qualified under the Law Society’s Immigration & Asylum Accreditation Scheme as a Senior Caseworker, which allows him to specialise in Immigration & Nationality law and provide specialist legal help for publicly funded work under the firm’s Legal Services Commission franchise.

James has an interest in civil and commercial mediation and gained accreditation as a civil and commercial mediator in March 2007.
