North Tyneside Council adoption and fostering service are encouraging individuals, couples and families to come forward to find out more about the process.
The council’s adoption service is inviting anyone thinking about adopting to attend an informal open evening on Wednesday 26 April at Whitley Bay Customer First Centre (6pm - 8pm), where members of North Tyneside Council’s fostering and adoption service will be on hand at the drop in event to answer questions.
The council also says that more foster carers for children and teenagers are urgently needed in North Tyneside. In a statement, the council said:
“We now have more children and young people than ever before who need a loving and stable home – and even though we've got more foster carers than ever before, the need it still great.
“Fostering can be anything from taking a child into your home for one weekend a month – to looking after them on a full-time basis for a few months, or perhaps permanently.”
The council says anyone interested in fostering or adoption can contact children’s services through the council’s website.
