Rubin joined Duncan Lewis in January 2008 and became a Partner 6 months later. He is a court and police station duty solicitor. In addition, Rubin has supervisory status under the Legal Services Commission franchise. He qualified as a Higher Court Advocate in early 2007.

He has over 10 years of extensive criminal law and procedural experience ranging from minor road traffic offences to murder, rape, extradition and all serious complex crime including large-scale drug conspiracies. Notable cases include Eva Nowakoska whom he represented at the police station - an au pair who was accused of shaking her baby, found not guilty of murder and manslaughter.

He was also part of a team that worked on one of the largest frauds in UK History involving allegations of a price fixing cartel by various drug companies supplying the NHS. Through an eye for detail, the trial eventually collapsed.

His first ever Crown Court case involved a man accused of violently stabbing another - over 20 witnesses were alleged to have seen the incident and the client was an ex SAS soldier. The client was unanimously acquitted on all counts.

More recently Rubin has represented a number of the defendants arrested as part of Operation Withern - The Riots over the 4 - 8 August 2011.

There are no areas that Rubin hasn't dealt with in Operation Overt - Terrorism one of the longest running and largest terrorist trials in the UK involving a conspiracy to detonate bombs on transatlantic planes. There is currently an application pending to the Supreme Court. He has acted for professionals including doctors and large companies.

He successfully represented an alleged major gangland leader in an Operation Trident (Black on Black specialist Police Unit) Shooting involving an alleged retaliation. He has also worked on large UKBA prosecutions Operation Swale as well as the notorious Operation Rise As a firm we continue to challenge the boundaries of crime and ensure the most vulnerable are defended. Rubin has successfully developed a sound reputation in the mental health arena dealing with complex mental health issues in an easily identifiable way. Notable Criminal and Mental Health Cases.

In R v A Rape case where the prosecution sought to adduce the clients previous acquittal in his present case. The matter was dismissed at the close of the prosecution case.

He has also assisted counsel in the drafting of abuse of process arguments, normally only the remit of counsel.

Rubin is also prepared to go the extra mile; he travelled to Jamaica on a Cannabis Importation Case of 25 kg. The evidence gained was put before the jury and as a direct result the jury returned a unanimous not guilty plea within minutes. He continues to represent those at He is also an advocate and conducts his own trials. He advocated in 2004 in what was at the time the largest application for an Anti Social Behaviour Order (ASBO), with six other respondents. His client was the only one not to receive an order against him.

Rubin is an approachable and reliable solicitor, often called upon by colleagues for advice, help and assistance. He enjoys cycling and has taken part in the London to Brighton Bike Ride for the last few years.
