Rachiel joined Duncan Lewis in July 2002 as a Caseworker in the Crime Department. Rachiel then progressed as a Trainee Solicitor from October 2003 and then qualified as a Solicitor in April 2005 and continued her career with the firm. She now deals with General Asylum and Migration casework in the Immigration Department and Criminal casework in the Crime Department at the Hackney office.
Rachiel has been specialising in both Immigration and Criminal law since qualifying as a Solicitor in 2005. She is qualified under the Law Society’s Immigration & Asylum Accreditation Scheme as a Senior Caseworker and Supervisor, which allows her to specialise in Immigration & Nationality law and provide specialist legal help for publicly funded work under the firm’s Legal Services Commission franchise. She is also an Accredited Criminal Duty Solicitor.
Rachiel specialises in dealing with representing clients detained at police stations and appearing at Magistrates Court. Rachiel deals with a wide range of offences such as benefit fraud to robberies. With regards to immigration cases, Rachiel currently deals with a variety of applications in relation to general asylum, immigration and fast track cases. She has recently successfully assisted a client on fast track to be granted refugee status. She is also fluent in the Filipino language.
